In studio courses, I seek to balance the aquisition and development of technical skills with the development of ideas: content informed by a sense of purpose and point of view. For no matter how sophisticated, technique alone produces empty, soulless forms. And without a strong technical vocabulary, the most profound statements cannot be effectively communicated.
