Chapter Meeting 1/30
•Oscar DeLong – Brother and History Club rep
- ask for help for History Club events
1) Holocaust Week (March 6-10): participate each day and keep clear of other events
2) Historic Costume Ball (March 31): help with set-up and clean-up of dance and Dr. Lorenz’s re-enactment; solicit donations from local businesses to be raffled off at dance; possibly donate meals for Sodexho to provide food
•Julie Frick – alumnae and new Section Rep
- open to any questions/problems/concerns
•need volunteers to set-up table and recruit prospective students Feb 18 in Dow Lobby
- Shannon, Ben and Geri
•Safe Ride
- RHA and A Phi O work together to provide safe ride to and from Greek houses
- only on Saturdays and party weekends
- boy and girl or 2 girls needed to drive – must be certified by Physical Plant
- Lindsay, Mark, Geri, Lauren
•Relay for Life – Hadley
- pass around sign up and recruit 17 team members
- everyone MUST sign up online before Feb 7th
- tell Hadley if know any cancer survivors you’d like to invite
- ideas for onsite fundraiser: rent out video games, sell tickets to movies, karoke, bake sale
- luminaria are $10 – decorated in memory/honor of someone and placed around track
•Sectional Conference – March 25 at MSU
- carpool down Saturday morning for business meeting and workshops
- can stay with Megan for banquet and dance or come back for Relay
- Chapter will pay for any Brother who wants to attend
- LEADS program workshops available
•1st Annual A Phi O Philanthropy Competition (aka Samaritan’s Purse Project)
- Cori passed out flyers to be posted
- no one registered as of yet, but Emilee will force all to succumb to participation
- Chapter will not have its own team but will help respective dorm or Greek house
•Brandi – Treasurer
- Dues $25 in by Feb 17th (Fri) to Brandi
- Checks to Alpha Phi Omega Omicron Tau
•Ben – Fellowship
- Dance Friday Feb 3rd in Jones 9pm-12am – casual – no alcohol
- can only bring friends
•Heather – Pledge Mommy
- Bigs spend at least an hour with your little
•Becky – Service VP
- service learning course hours do NOT count toward required 20 hrs because you’re getting course credit, but will count toward Chapter total
- service timesheets due next meeting
- new and improved timesheets out soon for February
- Kids’ Week (April 3-8) as national service project
- teach-ins, speakers, birthday party for school supplies with Big Brothers/Big Sisters
- Walk for Orphans with FCEE
- special service opportunity: 13 yr old girl needs mentor who can visit thru summer and continue during next year – talk to Becky if interested
•Drew – Sergeant at Arms
- cut out the chit-chat or he’s going to kick some butt
- meetings will go quicker!
•Sharing Service
- 7th and 8th grade dance was good times
- Amanda – idea to open proposed café in library to be run by student organizations as fundraiser – vote in favor of this idea
