Jesus was raised physically, not spiritually

Jehovah's Witnesses believe Jesus did not come back to life, but was raised only spiritually as Michael the archangel.

How to Respond to JWs

Show them John 2:19,21 which shows Jesus was going to raise himself bodily from the dead:

19 In answer Jesus said to them: "Break down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." ... 21 But he was talking about the temple of his body.John 2:19,21, NWT

Then read to them also Romans 10:9, which shows that God raised Jesus from the dead:

For if you publicly declare that 'word in your own mouth,' that Jesus is Lord, and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved.Romans 10:9, NWT

In John, Jesus says He will raise Himself from the dead. In Romans, Paul says that God raised Jesus from the dead. That's because Jesus is God!

Tell them about how Thomas put his fingers in Jesus' wounds:

27 Next he said to Thomas: "Put your finger here, and see my hands, and take your hand and stick it into my side, and stop being unbelieving but become believing." 28 In answer Thomas said to him: "My Lord and my God!"John 20:27-28, NWT

How could Thomas feel Jesus' wounds if He were not raised bodily? Read the JWs Luke 24:37,39:

37 But because they were terrified, and had become frightened, they were imagining they beheld a spirit. ... 39 "See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself; feel me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones just as you behold that I have."Luke 24:37,39, NWT

Jesus was raised bodily! He has flesh and bones! He specifically argued that He was not merely a spirit!
