The Bible proves the "First Vision" is false

We'll ignore the many changes to the first vision accounts and just stick with the official story (the Mulholland version). It's still incredibly easy to show how the supposed "First Vision" contradicts Scripture.

Did Smith see the Father?

According to the official, LDS-endorsed version of the story, Smith saw Jesus and the Father. But Scripture tells us this isn't possible, because God does not have flesh and bone, and no man can see or approach the Father.

God is spirit:

God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.John 4:24

Spirits do not have flesh and bones:

Look at my hands and my feet; it's me! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones like you see I have.Luke 24:39

God is not man:

I cannot carry out my fierce anger! I cannot totally destroy Ephraim! Because I am God, and not man - the Holy One among you - I will not come in wrath!Hosea 11:9

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a human being, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it happen?Numbers 23:19

22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image resembling mortal human beings or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles.Romans 1:22-23

No one can see God's face and live:

But he added, "You cannot see my face, for no one can see me and live."Exodus 33:20

God is invisible:

Now to the eternal king, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.1 Timothy 1:17

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creationColossians 1:15

No one has ever seen God.John 1:18

No man has seen or can see God:

He alone possesses immortality and lives in unapproachable light, whom no human has ever seen or is able to see. To him be honor and eternal power! Amen.1 Timothy 6:16
