Mormonism, the American Islam

There are an incredible amount of similarities between Islam and Mormonism - so much so, in fact, that Mormonism has been called the American Islam.

• Both claim to have a new prophet. Neither can provide evidence that their prophet is true.
  • BONUS: Neither can explain why they reject the other's prophet!
• Both claim to have a prophet who received a new revelation from an angel and produced a new book
• Both claim to believe in Jesus, though altering who Jesus is and what He did
• Both believe the Bible is corrupt and unreliable
• Both claim their new books are more reliable than Scripture
• Both place label those who challenge or question their religion "bigots"
• Both believe that newer revelations supercede older revelations, even if the newer revelation completely reverses or contradicts the older
• Both endorse polygamy and look forward to it in the afterlife
• Neither has any evidence for the validity of their newer "revelations"
• Both were started by troubled men with rather clear ulterior motives who almost certainly were purposefully lying
